Tokyo Hotels Addition: Janu Tokyo
Here is a brief review of the Janu Tokyo, a lifestyle hotel from the Aman collection that opened in March 2024, from a recent guest who recommended it! For the full list of Tokyo hotels, click here.
Janu Tokyo
On the rooms:
The rooms were lovely and modern, albeit smaller than the Aman. Ours had an outdoor balcony with seating, which was a nice touch. I was excited that we had a view of Tokyo Tower, but then I put my glasses on and realized I was looking at a crane! Definitely recommend requesting a room with a Tokyo Tower view…
On the service:
The service was excellent and extremely friendly. We only used the concierge to arrange our first meal, which was in the hotel. We had a birthday in the group, and they did a nice job of making it special.
On dining at Janu:
They have a head-spinning number of options: American, Italian, Japanese, Sushi, Chinese, a bar and a patisserie. So, really something for everyone.
On the location:
The best part of staying at Janu is its neighborhood. It is called Azabudai Hills and is essentially its own mini-city. The architecture is incredible, and it has fantastic stores and great little malls/shopping centers. teamLab has a permanent exhibit there called Borderless, which is a must-see.
Final thoughts:
Overall, I think it was comparable to the Four Seasons, though I'd give the latter a slight edge on service, and would give Janu Tokyo a huge edge on facilities. I think it's worth having on this recommendation list!
