Fouquet’s New York
I recently spent two nights at Fouquet’s in Tribeca, one of my favorite neighborhoods to explore. The streets are wider and less crowded than other parts of the city, and everyone strolling by seems effortlessly chic. Plus, there are so many unique stores and fantastic restaurants to discover.
The lobby at Fouquet’s is quite small and, at first glance, underwhelming. It is designed to evoke a Parisian feel, but something about it feels slightly off. I wasn’t a fan of the furniture, and with the lobby as the only common area, it could get really crowded with people working and having meetings. One feature I did love, however, was the Titsou Bar. Located behind a hidden wooden door in the lobby, the room is all shades of purple and pink, with cozy banquettes and leather bar stools. It feels like stepping into a jewel box—intimate and vibrant all at once.
The art throughout the hotel is thoughtfully curated and feels handpicked, adding a special touch. The hallways leading to the rooms are lined with bold blue stripes—a fun pop of color when you step off the elevator. The room décor is fabulous, with purple and pink as the main colors. The large pink lacquer minibar cabinet was a real highlight. The foyer features a playful purple and white patterned fabric, and the bathroom is a stunning marble accented with lavender trim. It has a Parisian, feminine feel that was just perfect for me. I also loved the burled wood armoire that serves as the closet, lined in pink lacquer inside—it was gorgeous.
The service was good but not over the top, though we didn’t ask for much assistance. They did forget to text us when our room was ready as promised, but the front desk gave us excellent breakfast recommendations. Housekeeping was prompt and efficient, and the restaurant staff helped us secure a last-minute dinner reservation at Brasserie Fouquet’s, which was very appreciated.
Elysee, the hotel’s more casual restaurant, is beautiful with its glass ceiling, lush greenery, and chic bistro vibe. The breakfast options were great; everything I ordered was delicious.
On the hotel’s lower level is a DOGPOUND gym. While not huge, it is stylish and well-equipped, decorated entirely in sleek grays and blacks—plus it played great music.
The spa has a steam room, sauna, and a small jet hydrotherapy pool with three comfortable cabana lounges; it is the perfect spot to relax.
One of the hotel’s coolest features is the private movie theater. With its Art Deco vibe, mustard-colored chaises, and gold leaf ceiling, it is a stunning space that can be rented for events, premieres, or meetings.
All in all, I would definitely stay at Fouquet’s again! I found the hotel to be fabulous, and a number of friends I’ve spoken with have agreed. Exploring Tribeca is always wonderful, and I highly recommend Fouqet’s to anyone looking to spend more time in downtown Manhattan.
